In and era of mass production, the GT-R demonstrates the value of hand-build expertise. In order to cope with the engine’s prodigious power output, enhanced exhaust cooling was needed. The solution was to use titanium – a metal that’s notoriously difficult to work with.
As well as improving cooling, the GT-R’s new Titanium exhaust provides a richer, more exotic sound. It features a control in the cabin that lets you significantly reduce outside exhaust noise upon start-up – ideal in residential areas – or allow you to turn up volume of the mighty twin-turbocharged V6 when you want to. A true piece of performance art.

PRESTIGE TOURING LEATHER INTERIOR **
The Prestige interior – available in four colours – features leather appointments on the centre console, door panels and gear lever. The hand stitched touring leather seats surround you in comfort, creating the perfect grand touring machine.

DIALED IN LIKE NEVER BEFORE
The rotary control on the centre console lets you control key functions through the 8” touchscreen. By rotating the dial, or pushing it to the left and right, you can scroll through all the menus and easily select the option you require

THE FACE OF PERFORMANCE
The combination meter uses meshing gears as a design cue. The tachometer is placed in the centre, with the large gear change indicator on the upper right, supporting the driver with easy readability when driving on the circuit.

FRONT AIR BAGS
Nissan Advanced Air Bag System includes dual-stage supplemental front air bags with seat belt sensors and an occupant-classification sensor. The inflation rate of these dual-stage air bags adjusts depending on crash severity and seat belt usage.

SIDE AND CURTAIN AIR BAGS
Built into the front seats, two side-impact supplemental air bags move with you as you adjust your seating position. Above, roof mounted curtain side-impact supplemental air bags help provide head protection for outboard occupants.

AUTOMATIC LED HEADLIGHTS
Automatic LED headlights respond to light conditions outside, turning on or off when necessary, and leaving you to concentrate on the road ahead.

STABILITY AND TRACTION TECHNOLOGIES
GT-R’s advanced All-Wheel Drive gives you confidence anywhere, anytime – helping to provide control of power to all four wheels. Combined with an equally advanced Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) system, this means you have superior confidence and controllability.

TYRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM
When it comes to tyre pressure, the Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) takes away the guesswork. Using an icon on your dash, the system notifies you when tyres aren’t properly inflated.

555PS VR38 TWIN-TURBO ENGINE
The GT-R’s award-winning 3.8-litre V6 24-valve twin-turbocharged engine now delivers 555PS at 6800 rpm and 632Nm of torque, representing an increase of 20PS and 5Nm, courtesy of individual ignition-timing control of the cylinders and extra boost from the turbochargers.
IHI INTEGRATED TURBOCHARGER
An IHI turbocharger is mounted on each bank of the engine. By combining the exhaust manifold and turbocharger into a single unit, the intake and exhaust gas flow is optimised. A larger intercooler is installed for more efficient cooling, while high-precision electronic controls ensure there is no turbo lag as torque rises.

In another break with convention, Nissan GT-R’s premium midship platform places the engine further back in the chassis for better handling. This unique layout also mounts the transmission with the transfer case in the rear of the Nissan GT-R, creating the world’s first independent rear transaxle for an All-Wheel Drive vehicle.

DRIVER-ADJUSTABLE SHOCKS
A special Bilstein DampTronic driver-adjustable shock absorber system offers a high level of control in different situations. For 2017, the system has been further developed for a smoother ride in Comfort mode, and enhanced steering feel in R mode.

TRACK-READY BRAKING
6-piston front and 4-piston rear calipers are machined from a one-piece “monoblock” of aluminium for extreme rigidity with light weight. Cross-drilled rotors feature diamond-shaped ventilation ribs, while a full-floating rotor allows the outer disc to expand away from the hub, helping reduce the tendency of the rotor to warp.

IT’S ALL IN THE DETAIL
The average car has exposed working gear underneath, creating lift and drag and slowing you down. The Nissan GT-R, of course, isn’t an average car. Its underbody is covered by composite panels, giving it a flat, aerodynamic surface.

MAKING PERFORMANCE OUT OF THIN AIR
That big spoiler and all those scoops and vents aren’t just there to look cool – they’re all doing something. The spoiler is creating downforce. Those ridges on the air dam and vents on the back bumper are managing air flow towards the rear. The vents behind the front fenders are cooling the brakes and creating more downforce, and the scoops on the bonnet and the signature grille are cooling the engine.

UNDERBODY AERODYNAMICS
At the front of the car, the flat underbody is accelerating the air and channeling it over the brakes, cooling them down. At the back, a carbon-fibre diffuser takes that accelerated air and slows it down, creating a vacuum effect that helps the Nissan GT-R stick to the road, or the track.
